Whether participants are notified depends on how you record the meeting.
Noota offers three recording methods: Chrome Extension, Desktop App, and Meeting Assistant.
Each behaves differently based on the platform you’re using (Zoom, Meet, Teams, etc.).
1. Using Chrome Extension
When recording through the Chrome Extension, Noota does not automatically notify other meeting participants.
Important Notes
Even if the platform doesn’t display a notification, we strongly recommend informing participants to comply with privacy and consent requirements.
Summary: No automatic notification from Noota, but some platforms may show their own alerts.
2. Using the Desktop App
The Desktop App works the same way as the Chrome Extension.
Noota does not send a notification to other participants.
We recommend informing participants before recording.
Summary: Same behavior as the Chrome Extension: no Noota notification.
3. Using Meeting Assistant
When using the Meeting Assistant, recording is always visible to meeting attendees.
What participants see
The Meeting Assistant appears as a participant in the call.
A banner or pop-up (depending on the platform) will indicate that the Meeting Assistant has joined.
The Meeting Assistant posts a message:
“I'm noota.io’s AI assistant, here to help with note-taking, invited by (user).
We record this call to ensure no details are missed, respecting your privacy and in compliance with GDPR.
This process is 100% automated.”
This ensures transparency and consent for all attendees.
Summary: Meeting Assistant always notifies participants automatically.
